Gall Bladder — Be Gone!
Today I get my gall bladder removed — finally. I have been waiting 10 months to get this done.
My first attack came when Hurricane Ivan was blowing through last year. At that time, it was still unknown that I was a Type II Diabetic. When all the tests came back, my gall bladder was diagnosed as non-functioning (a big duh). By the time it was diagnosed, I had been also diagnosed as a diabetic and my sugar levels were way to high to under go surgery. As long as the pain was managed (ie: lots of good dope), the surgeon wanted to wait until the sugar was under control.
Then on top of that, two of our 4 member team came up “with child”. Everyone panicked about the fact that 3 of us could be out at one time, although my down time is more like 5 days as opposed to 8 – 12 weeks. One co-worker went out and had her son and when she got back, my sugar levels still weren’t within the range the surgeon was looking for. Then 2 weeks early, the second co-worker had her baby boy. By this time my sugar levels were down within the range the surgeon was happy with.
So — it’s scheduled for tomorrow morning. The CSM is going to be with me for two days, and I’m hoping to go back to work on Tuesday. Until then, the Cafe will be closed.
I appreciate everyone that stops by here, either daily, or on occasion, or just through Blog Explosion or Blog Clicker. I will be back as soon as I can.

I’m sure all will be okay – I had my gall bladder out a couple of years ago – the pain of surgery was a blessing compared to the attacks I was having…my surgery happened quickly – I couldn’t imagine having to wait so long – you must be tough! :-) Best wishes to you and it will be good to have you back in business!
