It’s Official …
Remember my post The Love of my Life from the other day?
Well on August 1, 2005 — he will officially be a Sergeant Major in the US Army. The pinning on ceremony is planned for the 3rd at 6 am in front of the whole Battalion. Yes, that means this loving wife has to get up at 4 am to be there. Gawd, what I do for that man

Because the regimental commander wants it at that time and that’s the time when the whole battalion will be together.

Congratulations!!
I don’t know if everyone knows how hard it is to reach that rank. Sergeants Major make up less than 1% of the Army strength.
Or another way of looking at it: They out-rank about 99.5% of the soldiers in the Army.
I’m happy for ya’ll

Congrats to you and the other half, from one who knows what it feels like. Probably not necessary, but remind him that his job is to train and tolerate the junior officers and look out for the troops. have a great day!

Outstanding!!, Just read the news, as the better half and I just returned from AZ. I wish I could be there, but am way ill from all the elevation changes. Always knew you would make it! Congrats on a well deserved promotion.
