We’re under a tornado warning and I’ve been watching a wall cloud on the local news channel going right over where the CSM has to drive to get home. Above the house I can see the sky breaking through the clouds, so I shouldn’t be in any danger; but the sirens have been going off. Updated: 6:31 pm The CSM made it home okay - and it’s going to be fine.

Possible Tornado Damages Garage
Severe weather is moving across the Columbus area, prompting numerous tornado warnings.News Leader 9 has confirmed through the Macon County Sheriff’s Department a possible tornado touched down on County Road 199, and did some damage to Miller’s Garage.
We were able to speak with Ray Miller, the owner of the business. He says his garage was badly damaged, but his home is OK. Miller also reports the strong winds picked a child up off the ground, but the child is all right and is recovering at the hospital.
Elsewhere, a tree has fallen on a house along Lee Road 158 in Opelika. Power lines are down in that area as well.
I hate tornadoes!

We’re already under a flood watch, in advance, for tomorrow. 2-4 inches of rain and a chance of tornadoes.
Nothing like hurricane season! :O

Some nasty storms eh? We’re okay right now but expecting another fierce round a little after midnight. Ugh. Well, at least the grass that doesn’t blow away will grow.

Bah. We’ve been under a “Dangerous Flood Watch,” “Heavy Storm Watch,” and “Tornado Watch” for over 24 hours now. Its warm and overcast, zero precipitation.
These people and their damn warnings are way too out of control. They warn way too early and way too often — they just get ignored mostly any more (at least by me).
