Re: Movies & Ratings
The last movie we went to see was a sort of lighthearted comedy with Tommy Lee Jones called ‘Man of the House’ and that was at the $1.50 theater in Columbus. There just has not been much to come out of Hollywood this year that doesn’t pander to either gangstas or hormonal teens.
As far as the family rated movies making a comeback, this is a very good thing! Many of the ‘R’ rated flicks were/are rated such for their including a bad word here or a sex scene there. That used to be what sold tickets. But the same movies, minus the claptrap, can be rated for a wider audience and let’s face it, we can be insulted with foul language just from driving down the road these days. Glad to see that those who make the movies may be ready to see the light.

Well the 1SG and I don’t do movie theaters anymore. Can’t see paying that kind of money to sit in a place and deal with unruly children and/or abusive adults. We just wait until they come out on DVD. That way we can rent, pause, run to the bathrooms, eat and talk all we want and not disturb anyone. Plus, if we end up not liking the movie anyway, it was not a huge financial loss to the pocket book.
I also think a lot of the reduction in profits comes from the red-staters refusing to pay money for trash anymore. And we can tell them how we think by using our pocketbooks!
