The Wedding

Okay — how many out there watched Rob and Amber get married last night? Don’t be shy — 1SG and I couldn’t have been the only ones. Well, maybe, since we are probably about the only ones that don’t watch American Idol.

Can you say over the top?

It was so over the top, I really wonder if they paid for anything.

First - who paid for all this? Come on — someone out there has to know. Sure, the cost of going to the Bahamas and getting married is probably within most any couples expense account, if they’ve saved up wisely and gotten great deals on air fair and hotel. But come one now — Oprah’s event planner doesn’t come cheap!

Okay - the dress was amazing, and having it done by a family friend was a great touch Amber. But did they have to have Oprah’s event planner making snarky remarks about not knowing this designer? Who the frack cares if you’ve heard of her or not? There was more love put into that dress than any other wedding dress you’ve probably ever dealt with jacko!

The fact that Rob bought Amber a pair of diamond earrings because she doesn’t have any (what has the girl done with that $1M?), was a great touch too. But putting the house together won Rob major bonus points in this house. He seemed to have really picked up on her likes and dislikes, which I think is very sweet. But give me a frelling break guys and gals — there is no way 5 construction type guys did all that by themselves without some female assistance?! Then again, maybe Oprah’s wedding planning was doing double duty but they just failed to film that part.

Bottom line? Rob and Amber did it for the glory of it (putting it on tv). They are glory, media hounds and are going to do whatever it takes to remain in the spot light. BUT — these two are really in love. When it came right down to it, the vows they wrote for each other, said it all. No matter how much we may have hated him on Survivor and both of them on Amazing Race — they are in love. And that my friends, is a hard thing to come by these days.

So we sit and watch them have fireworks after they cut the cake, dance to a trumpeter, and have a choir sing to them down the isle. But what counts is what happens when the front door closes on the house given to them in Florida, and the cameras are off.

Good luck Rob and Amber.

  1. I love the two of them together, and that’s saying something because I used to despise Rob the first season he was on Survivor.

The proof is in the pudding, though. Any couple who can make it through Survivor, The Amazing Race AND planning a wedding and fixing up a house are in good shape.

Maybe CBS will release the show and I can catch it on Netflix!
