I haven’t updated on Bubba’s situation in a while.

For many days we fought with him to eat. As he continued to loose his food, day in and day out, he got thinner and thinner. I cried a lot. I fought him morning and night to get food down him and have it stay. Some days were better than others. I cleaned up my kitchen floor more times in a week than I had the whole time we’ve lived in this house. There was food slung everywhere when he’d try and eat and shake his head. We cleaned the living room carpet 4 times in two days, and the bed room carpet twice in a day.

Then all of a sudden — he stopped loosing his food. He refused to eat the soft dog food, but insisted on hard dog food. He started holding his mouth less cock-eyed, and the scabs were coming off around his mouth. He has only lost his food once in the last week, otherwise, it’s staying down. He’s got the “hitch” back in his step, he’s snuggling more and starting to act more and more like himself.

I bought him puppy dog food to help put the weight back on him, and poor Otis has to eat the skinny dog food cause he’s gotten so fat. Our vet called to check on him yesterday. How sweet. Hubby’s going to take them both to the vet next week while he’s on leave. Otis needs to have his heart worms checked and we want our vet to see Bubba’s progress.
